Privacy Policy
In short
- Wand has no account, no ads and no third-party analytics.

- Wand talks to your TVs over your local Wi‑Fi network. The App Store version of Wand does not send us information about you, your iPhone or your TVs.
- Some TV app icons may load from the TV maker or the app provider.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. Wand does not receive your payment details.
Who we are
Wand is made by Orbiva Ltd (“we”, “us”), a private limited company. Orbiva Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17415938, registered office: 12a Queen Annes Place, Enfield, England, EN1 2PT, is the controller of any personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@miyawesim.app.
This policy describes the version of Wand on the App Store.
What Wand keeps on your iPhone
To find your TVs again, reconnect and switch them on, Wand saves on your iPhone:
- for each saved TV: its name, the kind of TV (for example Roku), its model and software version, its address on your home network and, where the TV provides it, its network hardware (MAC) address, which Wand uses to switch the TV on over the network;
- the pairing tokens your TVs give Wand when you approve it. These are stored in the iOS Keychain;
- your favourite TV apps and the order of the apps you use most;
- your settings, such as Easy Mode and haptics.
Wand does not send this information to us or to anyone else. Like other app data, it can be part of the backups you make of your iPhone.
To remove a TV and its pairing token, open Wand, go to Settings → My TVs, swipe left on the TV and tap Forget. iOS can keep Keychain items after an app is deleted, so forget your TVs before you delete Wand if you want their tokens removed as well.
Your local network and your TVs
Wand needs the iOS Local Network permission to find the TVs on your Wi‑Fi and to control them. iOS asks you the first time Wand looks for TVs. You can turn it off at any time in iOS Settings → Apps → Wand → Local Network; Wand then cannot find or control your TVs.
Wand connects to your TVs directly over your local network. The keys you press, and any text you type with Wand’s TV keyboard, go only to the TV you are controlling.
When you pair, your TV may list Wand, under the name “Wand”, as a connected device or app. You can remove it in the TV’s own settings.
TV app icons
Some TVs give Wand a web address for the icons of their apps. Wand then shows that icon, and your iPhone may load it from the TV maker or the app provider. As with any request on the internet, that company’s server receives your IP address and the standard technical details your iPhone sends with a web request. That company’s own privacy policy applies to what it receives. Other icons are built into Wand or come from the TV itself.
Purchases
Wand Pro is sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles the payment and your Apple Account; Wand and Orbiva Ltd do not receive your payment details. To unlock the features you have bought, Wand asks Apple’s StoreKit, on your iPhone, which Wand Pro purchase your Apple Account holds. Apple’s privacy policy applies to purchases.
What Wand does not do
- Wand has no account and no sign-in.
- Wand shows no ads and does not track you across apps or websites.
- Wand contains no third-party analytics or crash-reporting tools.
- The App Store version of Wand sends no diagnostic or usage reports to us.
TV reports you choose to share
Wand can write a report about a TV to help with support (Settings → Help → TV diagnostic report). The report contains Wand’s version, your iPhone’s model and iOS version, the TV’s name, kind, model and software version if known, how Wand found the TV, the first three parts of its local network address, which features work, the result of a key check if you ran one, and the last error. It does not contain pairing tokens, PINs, your Wi‑Fi name, MAC addresses or full IP addresses.
Nothing is sent unless you share the report yourself, for example by email. If you send it to us, we treat it like any other email to us (see below).
If you email us
If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, including anything you attach. We use it only to answer you and to look into the problem you describe, which is our legitimate interest in helping you. We do not use it for marketing, and we keep it no longer than we need it for that purpose.
Children
Wand is a general-audience app. It does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has emailed us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
If you are in the UK, the EU or the EEA, data protection law (the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR) gives you the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive a copy of it.
Because the App Store version of Wand does not send personal data to Orbiva Ltd, we normally hold no personal data about you, unless you have emailed us. To use any of these rights, email hello@miyawesim.app.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK (ico.org.uk), or to the data protection authority where you live.
Test versions
Test versions of Wand that we give to invited testers work differently: they send diagnostic reports, and they say so in their own privacy text inside the app. This policy describes the App Store version.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Wand handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
